It is an awesome feeling to know that we do not have to do it on our own. Jesus came to fulfill a mission. He came to give his life as a sacrifice for us because of our sin. While on the cross he addressed forgiveness, salvation, care, loneliness, and desire. He addressed 5 things on the cross. The number five is the number of grace. Once grace was revealed, he said 3 powerful words. IT IS FINISHED!
When Jesus said it is finished, he was using the greek word (teleo) which means perfected. Jesus knew that his sacrifice was perfect and because it was perfect, he proceeded to give up his spirit to the Father.
What to the world seemed like the end was really the beginning. The beginning of grace. The beginning of a new era. The beginning of a movement. Jesus suffered an unjustly death so that we may live life to the fullest.
Therefore, begin to rejoice for what Jesus did so that you may live. Begin to rejoice for the whips and bruises that he suffered to protect. Begin to rejoice for the gift of salvation that he freely provided. While the world saw it as a sad day, we should always view it with gratitude. He did it for us. We are no longer bound to the Law but rather now we are free by his grace.
Grace is awesome, let’s enjoy it.
